Sam Skidmore - Harrisonburg, VA

Day Job:

The majority of the year I build trail with Dirt Artisans and other organizations. In the winter I work at our local ski resort as a snowcat operator and run our terrain parks. Being able to create things I wanna ride whether it’s with snow or dirt is really awesome and seeing kids or anybody get excited on something I do every day is very rewarding.

Bike:

Salsa Redpoint my mountainbike i ride it on a variety of trail, and I also spend a lot of time on roads bikes as well.

Where can we find you out riding?

Most of our trails are backcountry in the George Washington National Forest, While i am away from home working we often ride other trail networks and forest which is refreshing. Some of the my favorite riding is not far from us in West Virginia or close to home.

Favorite post-ride food or drink:

Bag of salty chips, ice cream sandwiches. I really enjoy backroad convenient stores and you never know what you might walk out with.

What are you getting into in 2019?

As the cold leaves and my workload lets up and it will be all about mountain bikes come spring then rolling into trailbuilding around the same time. We have some trips planned and many races we are gonna try to hit along with some good ride trips to local spots and ones that are a bit further.

What ZOIC gear is in heavy rotation right now?

I really like the Ether jersey and Eteher shorts. They feel good wearing all day and l like the more basic look of them.
