Are you between sizes or on the cusp? If so, we recommend sizing up due to the fixed waist and slim fit of this item.
Probably the best bike focused shots I've bought in the last 6 years. Very durable, well constructed, pockets with zippers in the right places. They run a little small in the waste so size up. High quality to price rations with these.
I love the zoic 9 inch shorts .I have owned 6 pairs over the years, they last a lone time. I all ways ordered the medium 32 inch waist, fit a little snug, perfect fit for me . So when they were offering the sale that I can buy two pairs for almost the price of one, I jump on it. Order the shorts, they came in within a week. I took them out of the bag and hung them up. Never tried them on. I owned 6 other, what could go wrong. I just ordered a pair from an outside vender, they fit great, still had the old waistband. Time came That I was going for ride on my local trails. Went put on one of the new shorts that I ordered from Zoic direct . Did not fit. They remover the elastic waistband. I needed about an 1 1/2 more stretch to make the shorts fit. Well I contacted Zoic on line, ordered the new pair size 34, they fit great. The only problem is that I removed the tags from the other shorts, not sure if they will refund the other two shorts. If not I have two 32 inch waist 9 inch shorts, that will probably fit some one with 30 inch waist. For sale cheep. ( never used ) Kind of my fault, but the never said there was a design change. Still best MTB shorts that I have ever used. I've ben MTB for over 40 years. Sorry I would have taken picture but there on the way back to Zoic. Fingers crossed. Just a note, if you buy new Zoic shorts, move up to the next size. Now get out there a ride. Peace out.
I have five pair of Zoic Ether 9 shorts, mostly the earlier version. I decided to try these, for less extra baggy fabric hanging up on the seat. I wear size 36 jeans and size 36 Zoic Edge pants. Not surprisingly I ordered this new Ether 9 in size 36. I could not come close to getting it zipped and buttoned. I exchanged for the size 38 and they fit great. Plenty of room for leg muscles but no bagginess to catch the saddle. I will order more.
I have a pair of the original version of the Ether 9s that I put tons of miles on. Best bang for buck when you want something a little shorter for gravel riding (and not $100+ bucks like all the boutiquey gravel brands). I always thought it would be great if they were a little more streamlined, and these new ones totally tick that box. They look better. However in my size 30, I've got no wiggle room in the waist, it's kinda snug and a tad tight across my rear. If only they made size 31! So, I'm back to a new small pair of the OG version with the elastic in the waist. But, I'm giving them 5 stars because if the size works for you, they're awesome.
I went with a LARGE based on my 33/34 waist but that's that far end of this fit. Wish I would have gone bigger. The 12" inseam is short on my legs in the large size....the liner is visible beyond the short leg when pedaling.
Other than that...typical high quality short and liner from ZOIC!
